Young Dennis Hopper

Dennis Hopper was one of my favorites. Here are some TV commercials by da man.    I think those for NFL are over the top. What do you think?

One of my favorite movies with him is “Flashback” with Kiefer Sutherland. If you were one of the ‘flower children’ or ’space cadets’ back in the ’70’s you might enjoy it.

That is if you can remember the ’70’s.

The F bomb is dropped in one of the commercials so it is not suitable for small children and pets.

See ya, Mike

  1. Hey MAN….sorry for your loss. Now, you have to agree he was one pot smoking druggie who succeeded in his arena. Is that why you relate? However do you think he would have been more successful with or with drugs? But, you are right, those commercials are classics. I had to watch, and laugh at all of them. Thanks for putting the collection together…miss and luv ya..peace! :p

  2. Terry,

Yes, I will give you that he was a pot smoking druggie (plus any and every drug and type of booze he could get his hands on) and he was free of drugs and alcohol for nearly 30 years at the end of his life. Not sure if he would have been more successful, I often wonder that about Jimi Hendrix, Hunter S. Thompson and Jim Morrison – again, some of my favorites. Maybe I could have been a brain surgeon…na. Maybe I could have gotten my Bachelor of Science in less than seven years…na. Alistor Crowley use to say, “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.” Now there was one crazy twisted bastard.

    luv you too MAN

  3. Hi Mike,

I ordered “Flashback” from Netflix to refresh my memory. I made it #1 position on my queue, however there is a long wait for it…can you believe it? I personally don’t remember a lot from the 70’s but I know I had a good time. I do remember that water funnel while driving up the keys at about mile marker 80 and pulling over until it past. It was like sitting in a car wash! But anyway I don’t have a friggin’ clue on what Alistor Crowley is trying to say in that sentence, until I read it 5 times. I think Doris Day sang the same sentiments…”What will be, will be”!! Que sera, sera. Enjoy the moment!
    LOL…Terry

  4. Terry,

Yes, we were living in the moment back then, weren’t we. I have been told that I should write a book about the ‘old days’. Maybe we could co-write it? I guy named Kevin ? stopped by and left a note and mentioned that he was a friend of Chris Rays (from 30 years ago) and said that he is glad to see that I am still here – I’m glad too. How is your ‘blues brother’ doing?

Say hi to Deb and John if you run into or over them. Yes, Alister was right out there. Peggy Lee sang, “is that all there is, so let’s go dancing.” Or something like that. When watching ‘Flashback’ have a couple margaritas and smudge up your glasses – you’ll feel more like you’re back in the ’70’s.

    Love, Mike
